Scandic söker Communications Specialist
Scandic Hotels is looking for a Communications specialist.
We are starting up our industry again and for this, we need you. A passionate storyteller, strong content creator and caring relationship builder. As a communication specialist at Scandic, you’ll work to build trust and relevance for Scandic as a company and drive, strengthen and protect our business and brand through bold and proactive communication. You’ll report to the Communication Director at Scandic Hotels Group and be part of a team of five people with responsibility for developing Scandic’s internal and external communication in Sweden and on a Group level. You will work mainly on the Swedish market where you will focus on supporting the hotels with proactive and reactive communication as well as cooperating closely with the Swedish marketing department and other internal and external partners in order to find and spread great stories from across the organization and create interest for the Scandic brand and products.
Specifically, this means:
- Executing on annual PR and marketing plans aligned with Scandic’s overall strategy
- Creating content in Swedish and English to convey messages and stories through genuine, warm and inspiring articles, images, films, press releases, posts and events
- Seeking and developing proactive PR opportunities across the organization
- Participating in internal projects with the objective to plan and execute communication towards our prioritized target groups
- Working hands on to support and train spokespersons within the Swedish organization
- Building strong relationships/networks with media and journalists on industry and national levels
- Monitoring, analyzing and acting on media coverage of Scandic and the hospitality industry
- Publishing press releases, articles and other material targeting our different target groups
- Shared responsibility of the Swedish organization’s press phone to support the hotels in crisis management
- Optimizing existing ways of working and exploiting new working methodologies within the field of communication and PR
Experiences you’ll share with us:
You are a commercially driven, creative, proactive and goal-oriented Communication Specialist with a passion for content creation and storytelling. A doer in tune with the news agenda and quick in mind and action. You love building brands and master the full communications toolbox including external- and internal communications and social media. You are humble, has a collaborative mindset and is used to putting the team first. You have excellent written and oral communication skills, a hands-on approach and is used to creating content in different media formats. You are structured and easily grasps the business perspective on communications. An international environment is nothing new and you are used to managing different types of internal and external stakeholders.
A bit about you – you have:
- Excellent and effortless written and oral communication skills in Swedish and English
- A creative, innovative and fast mind
- 2-4 years’ relevant working experience from PR- and communication roles at agency, company or media house
- A university degree or the equivalent in marketing and communications or journalism
- The ability to convey a message and engage others by turning strategy into action
- Solid communication skills and strong social skills including the ability to build trust, inspire and motivate groups and communicate with people from all levels of the company as well as external stakeholders
- Experience from working in different publishing and editing tools
